God’s Word tells us that there are three kinds of healing:
- The first kind is instant healing, which is done by faith that is imparted or revealed instantly. In Mark 10:46-50, Jesus imparted instantaneous faith to blind Bartimaeus, and he was healed instantly because he cast off his proud robes of religion and got rid of his own ideas and dreams and turned to Jesus.
- The second kind of healing is progressive healing, which is done through progressive faith. In Mark 8:22-25, after Jesus had prayed for the blind man, he saw men as trees walking; however, after Jesus had put His Hands again upon the blind man’s eyes and made him look up, he was restored and saw every man clearly. Sometimes, people need to be in a place where they can receive more of God’s Word in order to progress in their faith so that their healing might progress. As we receive God’s Word, our faith progresses.
- The third kind of healing is obedient healing. In John 9:6 and 7, Jesus told the blind man to go and to wash in the pool of Siloam. That blind man went, washed, and came seeing. A lot of people are sick because they are not obeying God. When we need healing for our bodies, we need to seek God to find out if there is something that God has told us to do that we are not obeying. Sometimes, God tells us to do something that may seem little to us, so we just shove it over in the corner. However, when we begin to pay for our disobedience, we begin to wise up about it.
