This message continues our study of Jesus’ Spiritual Tabernacle and the Commandments on the Table of Shewbread side. It covers the fourth point of the stature of the Bread of the Crucified Christ—the Bread of Obedience. As we eat of the Bread of Christ’s Obedience, we find the same obedience that was worked in the Lord Jesus’ Heart and Life being worked in our hearts and lives.
In Matthew 5:20, Jesus said that in order for us to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees. Matthew, chapter 23, gives eight woes that Jesus gave to the scribes and Pharisees which form two statures: The Pharisees Outward Stature Before Man: (1) They Shut Up The Kingdom of Heaven, (2) They Devoured, (3) They Proselyted, and (4) They were Blind; The Pharisees Inward Stature Before God: (1) They Omitted Judgment, Mercy, and Faith, (2) They were Full of Extortion and Excess, (3) They were Full of Death and All Uncleanness, and (4) They had Murder in Their Hearts.
As God’s servants and people, may we have a desire to be more like Jesus and to eat of His Bread of Obedience, which will take each evil thing out of our flesh, outwardly and inwardly, and make us more like the LORD.
