This lesson covers the stature of the fourfold working and moving of the Finger of God. Its first ministry is Judgment (Exodus 8:16-19). As Christians, nothing crosses our pathway accidentally. God’s Finger is behind all of it, so we need to kneel down and to seek God when His Finger begins to move so that we might find what His Judgment concerns. The second ministry of the Finger of God is Writing, of which God’s Word gave us three examples. (1) The second time that God gave the Law to Moses on Mount Sinai, with His own Finger, He wrote His Message of holiness and righteousness in Tables of Stone (Exodus 31:18). If we will go on for God and let Him crucify our flesh and let the Living Stone of Jesus in our heart grow bigger, He can write that Word in the Living Stone—the Rock of Ages—in our hearts. (2) Then, when King Belshazzar of Babylon used the vessels of God for his drunken feast, the Finger of God wrote God’s Judgment on the wall of the king’s palace (Daniel 5:5,6). (3) Another time, Jesus wrote in the ground when the scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery for stoning (John 8:6). The third ministry of the Finger of God is for natural and spiritual Creation (Psalm 8:3), and its fourth ministry is Casting Out Devils (Luke 11:20).
This lesson also covers the stature of change that took place in King Belshazzar after the Finger of God had written on the wall of his palace (Daniel 5:6): (1) His Countenance was Changed, (2) His Thoughts Troubled Him, (3) The Joints of His Loins were Loosed, and (4) His Knees Smote One Against the Other. If the Holy Ghost abides in our temple, our temple is a vessel of the LORD, and if we pour the wine of this world and of this flesh into the holy vessel of God, God will weigh us in the balance, and we will be found wanting. He will not leave His Judgment to anyone else. His Finger will see to it personally, and He will write us a message.
