(Resurrection Day) Mary Magdalene must have been an important person because God’s Word recorded so much about her. John 20:1 gives us a triangle of Truth concerning Mary: (1) She arose early, (2) She sought Jesus while it was yet dark, and (3) She saw. This lesson shares what the Scriptures say about what kind of person Mary Magdalene was: (1) She ministered unto Jesus (Matthew 27:55,56). (2) She stood near the Cross (Matthew 27:55,56. (3) She watched as they took Jesus’ Body and laid it in the Tomb (Matthew 27:61). (4) She went to the sepulchre with spices (Mark 16:1). (5) She loved Jesus much because she had been cleansed of seven devils (Luke 8:1,2). (6) She left all and followed Jesus (Luke 8:3).

This message also covers Mary Magdalene’s sevenfold ministry at the Tomb: (1) She stood steadfast (John 20:11). (2) She stooped down (John 20:11). (3) She looked into the sepulchre (John 20:11). (4) She saw (John 20:12. (5) She confessed her lack of knowledge (John 20:13). (6) She continued to seek for Jesus (John 20:15). (7) She found Him Whom her soul loved (John 20:16).

Mary was the first person to whom Jesus appeared after He had been resurrected and to whom He gave the missionary message: “I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God (John 20:17). Second Corinthians 5:19 says, “[G]od was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself,...” In the Cross of Jesus, we have union with Jesus. When Jesus has entered into our hearts and we have been baptized into Him, then God becomes our Father.
