This lesson gives a stature of Truth—four examples—from the Book of Acts that testify to us how we should baptize in Water. In Matthew 28:18-20, after Jesus had risen from the dead, He said: “[G]o ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Jesus said, “Go and baptize in the Name. He did not say, “Names.” There is one Name that represents the Godhead—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost—in which God chose to do business on this Earth. There is no name, other than the LORD Jesus Christ, that God gave in which for us to be baptized. Jesus said, “I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, [speaking of the Antichrist] him ye will receive” (John 5:43). The Jews would not believe Jesus. They would not receive Jesus even though He had come in His Father’s Name; however, when the Antichrist comes in his own name, as a nation, the Jews will receive the Antichrist. The Book of Acts gives us four men who bore witness of this revelation of how we are to baptize: (1) The Apostle Peter (Acts 2:36-38), (2) Philip (Acts 8:12-17), (3) Ananias (Acts 9:15-18 and Acts 22:14-16), and (4) The Apostle Paul (Acts 19:4-7). These four witnesses had received the revelation of What the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost is. Father is not a name; it is a title. Son is not a name; it is a title, and Holy Ghost is a title. The Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is the LORD Jesus Christ, and Jesus’ Disciples went forth and baptized in that Name.
