Beginning with the 10th verse of chapter 6 in Ephesians, there is a command concerning the seven pieces of a Christian’s armor that Jesus will give to us to use for defense when the Devil comes against us and for offense when we go into aggressive battle. This lesson covers the fifth piece of Defensive Armor—the Helmet of Salvation (Ephesians 6:17), which is the Mind of Jesus Christ—and it covers the two pieces of offensive armor—The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17) and All Prayer (Ephesians 6:18). The Sword of the Spirit is the only Sword that the Spirit will use and the only Sword that Jesus used against Satan. Jesus had to be tested before God put Him into the ministry for three-and-a-half years. We must be tried at the hands of Satan, as well, because God wants to know that we have personally chosen Him for ourselves. All Prayer is Holy Ghost prayer. Romans 8:26 says that we know not what we should pray for, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us. The Holy Ghost knows and prays according to the Mind and Will of God (Romans 8:27). This lesson gives the stature of The Ministry of God’s Spirit in Prayer: (1) All Prayer (Worship Prayer), which occurs when God takes hold of us—spirit, soul, and body—and His Spirit moves out of us, and we find that our mind is upon Jesus; we are worshipping Him, and we are loving Him as only God’s Spirit can love through us. (2)
Supplication, which occurs when we humble ourselves, are anxious for nothing, bind ourselves with God’s Will through All Prayer, and with thanksgiving make our requests known unto God. Then, we experience God’s Peace which passes all understanding. The third point of the stature of the Ministry of God’s Spirit in Prayer is (3) Watching. God’s Spirit will watch if we will let Him watch, and the hardest thing for us to watch is our tongue. The fourth point is (4) Perseverance, which means persistency. God wants the quality of perseverance to be formed in us. Then, the Holy Ghost will stick and lay hold of what we have already gained in God, and we will not lose it.
