This lesson is part of a series of studies concerning the Spiritual Tabernacle that Jesus preached in Matthew, chapters 5 through 7. At the bottom of Jesus’ Spiritual Tabernacle, we find the Law. Previously, in sermon study #R2R 46, we studied The Law of the Foundation and some of Jesus’ teaching concerning The Law of Fruit. This message continues His teaching concerning The Law of Fruit in which He said, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit” (Matthew 7:15-17). Jesus told us to mark professors—false prophets—who profess to be grapes, but are thorns, and who profess to be figs, but are thistles.
This lesson also covers The Law of the Way that Jesus gave in Matthew 7:13,14 where He compared the narrow Way with a strait gate on which few people travel that leads to Life and the New City to the broad way with a wide gate on which many people travel that leads to destruction and Death and Hell. We can choose the way on which we travel in life; however, we cannot choose the end of that way.
