This lesson shows how the new Bread in Leviticus, chapter 23, pictured Jesus Christ Who was the new Bread that came out of the Tomb on Resurrection Day. Jesus went down with one kind of Bread, and He arose with another kind of Bread. He arose with Resurrection Power. He arose with a Power that had never been placed in a body before. At the Passover Feast and at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the children of Israel ate unleavened bread; however, 50 days later, they offered a new Bread Wave Offering in which God commanded them to put leaven (Leviticus 23:16,17). Leaven pictured the full portion of the penetrating Resurrection Power of the Holy Ghost that God sent down on the Day of Pentecost, which was fifty days after Jesus’ Resurrection. After He had been resurrected, Jesus did not go directly to Heaven. He spent forty days showing Himself to people to allow them to see the Face of this new Bread that had risen from the grave that had been fully penetrated with Resurrection Power. This lesson covers the stature of the Power of the New Bread: (1) The Power to Change Form (Luke 24:31 and Luke 24:16), (2) The Power to Appear (Luke 24:36 and John 20:19), (3) The Power to Give (John 20:22), and (4) The Power to Send Forth (John 20:21). It also covers the stature of the Four Messages that the New Bread Gave: (1) Jesus’ Message to Mary Magdalene (John 20:17), (2) Jesus’ Message to His Disciples (John 20:21), (3) Jesus’ Message to Peter (John 21:15-17), and (4) Jesus’ Message to His Eleven Disciples (Matthew 28:18-20).
