This message continues our study of Jesus’ Spiritual Tabernacle and the second Testimony at the Laver: (2) Divine benevolence in asking, seeking, and knocking (Matthew 7:7-11). It covers the three things for which Jesus said we are to knock: (1) An Open Face (Second Corinthians 3:6-18), which includes open eyes, an open mouth, open ears, and an open nose. After Moses had received the Word on Mount Sinai, his face shone with God’s Glory so much that he had to put a vail upon his face because the hearts and faces of the children of Israel had veils upon them, and God cannot reveal His Glory to any veiled heart or face. If we are to wear God’s Glory and to have His Word revealed to us, we are to knock in prayer for God to take the veil off our face—our eyes, our mouth, our ears, and our nose—so that we can see His Glory, Word, and Power, boldly proclaim the ministry of the Gospel, hear God’s Spirit, and smell what pleases and displeases our LORD. (2) An Open Door of Utterance (Colossians 4:2,3) so that we may be able to testify and to make known the mystery of Christ more and more, and (3) An Open Book (Revelation 5:1-10). God wants us to knock in prayer on the Lamb’s door for the sealed Book of Revelation to be opened to us because He holds the key to the sealed Book. This lesson also gives the four pictures of Jesus Christ that are revealed in the Book of Revelation: (1) Jesus Christ—The Resurrected King, (2) Jesus Christ—The Slain Lamb, (3) Jesus Christ—The Son of Man on a White Cloud, and (4) Jesus Christ—The King of Kings and LORD of LORDS on a White Horse.
